- Tran joins Liberis to drive strategic growth and strengthen the company’s market position in embedded finance
11 August 2025, London - Liberis, a leading global embedded finance platform, today announced the recent appointment of Trang-Thu Tran as Chief Commercial Officer. Based in Liberis’ Atlanta office, Tran is responsible for driving both short- and long-term strategies to strengthen Liberis' market position, unlock growth opportunities and deepen relationships with partners and merchant ecosystems to grow Liberis’ value.
"Trang brings exactly the kind of embedded finance expertise and strategic vision we need," said Rob Fairfield, CEO Liberis. "She’s built embedded finance solutions for small businesses from the ground up, and has experience on both the platform and provider side. This gives her a unique 360-degree perspective on what it takes to build successful partnerships and drive sustainable growth."
At Goldman Sachs, Tran served as Head of SMB and Commercial Lending. Prior to that, she spent four years at Amazon as Global Head of B2B Payment Credit and Business Operations, managing business payments operations including credit management across multiple lines of business.
"I'm a strong believer in embedded finance, particularly when the lender is integrated into the customer's day-to-day workflow and using data to position the product when customers need them most," said Trang-Thu Tran, Chief Commercial Officer, Liberis. "Liberis is at an exciting inflection point in its growth journey, with a bold strategic vision and sharp focus on execution that makes it well-positioned to grow rapidly. My goal is to help Liberis differentiate and innovate beyond commoditised offerings, evolving from being solely a lender to becoming a trusted advisor with real value-add for our partners and their merchant ecosystems."
Tran's appointment comes as Liberis focuses on product innovation and expanding into untapped markets including B2B segments and specialised industries. Her experience spans the full spectrum of embedded finance, from product development and commercial strategy to credit and risk management.
Tran attended Harvard University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Social Studies (Economics and International Development). She then pursued an MBA in Finance at Columbia Business School.
